Hunting in South Africa

Hunting farm is based on the privately owned 30 000 acres game reserve in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, which is 4-hour drive from Johannesburg.

The typography of the areas we hunt ranges from open savannah areas, hills, Limpopo Bushveld with thick vegetation up to Riverine bushveld. As a bonus we have the Palala River as one boundary with Crocodile and Hippo plus excellent fishing for the fisherman. Various species occur in the area ranging from Buffalo, White Rhino and Sable to Bushbuck, Duiker and Kudu. A total of 28 species to hunt occur in the area and we can accommodate up to 60 species to hunt in all of our various concessions which totals almost 500 000 acres alone in South Africa.

You start your safari in Johannesburg International Airport where a representative from Safpol Safaris will welcome you and introduce to your professional guide who will transfer you to the hunting area. Rifles are available for rental but it is preferred that you bring your own rifle. After settling into camp the rifles will be tested on a shooting range and we will start hunting.

The fleet of 13 well maintained hunting and safari vehicles could take you to any destinations you request through out South Africa and we can also charter to any destination you wish to hunt. As part of our extended service we will take you to a local Taxidermist based in Pretoria to verify you on the quality of work he delivers. He could take care of your trophy for you and advise you how to mount everything you have hunted. On departure we will also hand you a full set of photos which you can take home to show to other hunters why you have booked your hunting with our company.

Our typical accommodation includes a safari lodge which is a typical East African style camp with bathrooms en-suite, bar, boma, swimming pool and 220volt electricity. We have also available a typical chalet camp with exactly the same futures. Facilities at the camp include: restaurant, bar, swimming pool, lounge, boma, shooting range, riffle rental.

The lodge also caters for family groups and they are welcome to join you on your hunting trip to South Africa. Non-hunters can take a walk amongst the big five with a ranger or go for a game drive where you can spot anything from White Rhino, Sable and Kudu to the tiniest insects. They could also spend an early morning birding and bird watching from one of our several hides or go boating on the Palala River where more water birds could be added onto your list. We are also within a 90-minute drive from Nylsvley Nature Reserve, which is the birding Mecca of South Africa. Several more activities are offered like hiking, cycling, mountain biking, fishing, target shooting (on request) canoeing and horse riding. For the horse lovers we could visit the close by Arab horse stud. We also offer survivor style bushbraais and picnics completely away from camp deep into the African bush. And finally you could just relax in our thatched lounge or next to the sparkling pool from where you have and eagles view onto the nearby waterhole meters away from the main camp, providing attractive sights of drinking and feeding game.
