Mahe - Praslin - La Digue
DAY1 Upon arrival at the Mahe
International Airport you will be welcomed by Safpol Safaris representative
and transferred to the hotel. Day at leisure. Dinner and overnight
at the hotel.
DAY 2 Early morning breakfast
at the hotel. Discovering the splendour of Mahe Island while
participating in the fun drive in Jeeps and Mini Mokes. After
a briefing, the morning is spent driving around Mahe in your own
cars (max. 4 pax per vehicle) on our specially designed rally.
It is a perfect way to explore the island and soak up the sun. We
provide clues, maps and mineral water and our staff will be waiting
on the check points to provide you with any assistance you may need.
The roads are good, the traffic is light and the driving is on the
left.
Lunch is at Chez Batista restaurant located on a secluded beach
at Anse Takamaka. After lunch time at leisure and return
to the hotel in your own time.
In the evening transfer for a Creole buffet dinner at Vye Marmit
restaurant which is situated at the craft Village on the East Coast
of Mahe. The restaurant is a restored Plantation House with a magical
atmosphere.
DAY 3 Transfer from the hotel
to Marine Charter in Victoria. Boarding a boat for the journey
out to the Marine National Park. In this protected area you
will be introduced to the variety of the park's sea life through
the windows of the comfortable semi-submersible. The seating area
of the semi-submersible is about two meters below the sea level
and you can view the underwater world through large glass panes
- in short, snorkeling without getting wet! You can enjoy 30 min.
experience watching the beautiful coral reef and a wide variety
of fish.
There will be time allocated for the fun of fish hand feeding before
landing on Round or Cerf Island. For the energetic, the boat
will be at disposal for snorkelling in warm turquoise waters before
lunch (equipment is supplied). Enjoy an authentic Creole barbecue
lunch on the island and spend the rest of the afternoon swimming
or just relaxing on the beach.
Return to Marine Charter and transfer to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 4 Day at leisure to enjoy
the amenities of the hotel such as scuba diving, windsurfing etc.
Light lunch and theme dinner at the hotel.
DAY 5 No visit to Seychelles
is complete without visiting two of the most beautiful islands in
the Archipelago - Praslin and La Digue. After breakfast transfer
to Victoria Harbour to board the luxurious high speed Catamaran
"Cat Cocos" for the journey to Praslin Island. There
you will visit the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve, a World
Heritage Site renowned for the unique Coco de Mer palms with its
provocative shaped nut and mystic powers. The Vallee de Mai is also
famous for its very rare Black Parrot which is found only on this
island.
After visit to Praslin transfer to La Digue Island. The priceless
gem of the Indian Ocean will captivate you with its beauty, charm
and tranquility, reminiscent of bygone days. La Digue is one of
the most photogenic islands in the Seychelles with breathtaking
beaches where the "time stands still" with ox-carts and striking
granite formations. Visit l'Union Estate where you can see
its majestic colonial house, coconuts being turned to copra and
then to oil, vanilla being cured and giant land tortoises pen.
Time is allocated for swimming and relaxing in the sunshine to the
gentle sound of the waves washing the shore at Anse Source D'Argent
which is the one of the most beautiful beaches of the island with
its spectacular rock formations.
Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 6 Full day tour "Island
Odyssey" will take you back in time. You will experience
the feeling of life enjoyed by the early seafarers when they discovered
the island. Secluded coves, inaccessible by road, are revealed from
the sea.
Cruise round the north coast of Mahe around mystic L'llette,
Conception and Therese Islands which have been used by pirates
for centuries. Lunch will be served on Therese Island and there
will be time for swimming.
On the way back stops at Beau Vallon Bay, Anse du Riz with its beautiful
bay of turquoise waters and at unspoiled Petite Anse.
DAY 7 Morning spend at leisure
at the hotel. Afternoon departure to visit Victoria, which
is the smallest capital in the world. Explore the colourful market
with the stalls piled high with fish and fruits or to shop for curios
from the street traders. Stroll around the most agreeable centre
of Victoria, past the old law courts with their colonial architecture
and the Clock Tower that is the replica of clock in London's Vauxhall
Bridge Road, erected in 1903 to honour Queen Victoria.
Gala dinner at the hotel.
DAY 8 Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the airport and check in for the departure.
